David C. Long has been involved with economic development financing since 1984. Before starting his tenure at Heartland Business Capital in 1988, he worked for the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the Missouri Industrial Development Board. In those organizations, David worked with a wide variety of statewide financing programs for start-ups, expansions, mergers, and acquisitions using a combination of public and private financing tools.
David has been recognized as a Financial Service Advocate by the local Small Business Administration (SBA) office. He has been active in the Kansas Association of Certified Development Companies, the Kansas City-based First Step Fund, and the County Economic Research Institute (CERI). David was educated at the University of Kansas in the business school, and lives in Overland Park.
