Brett Larson

Passion: Crunching numbers

Outside the Office: Grew up in Roeland Park, where he liked being close to downtown, the Plaza, the Royals, and Arrowhead Stadium

Hobbies: Church, father-daughter dances, Cub scouts, the outdoors, vacationing in Minnesota and at Table Rock Lake, laughing with his wife, and occasionally being sarcastic (much to her dismay)

Family: Wife, daughter, son, and one fur baby

Brett Larson grew up working in his parents’ businesses, and has worked in the Small Business Administration arena for the past 12 years. Prior to joining Heartland Business Capital in 2006, Brett held positions with the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation (KTEC), the Enterprise Center of Johnson County (ECJC), and the Small Business Development Center at Johnson County Community College (SBDC). In addition, he has presented seminars on starting a business, Kauffman FastTrac, and QuickBooks. He has also pursued continuing education with H&R Block Income Tax and RMA courses.

Brett’s background includes Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Economic Development, Consulting, Finance, Banking, and Commercial Real Estate. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Kansas, and worked in his father’s construction business for two years before moving to Wichita, Kansas to complete his Master’s in Business Administration at Wichita State University.
